I decided to go for a dark UI because the site was built to be used by designers an developers and most of the software they make use of are dark-themed by default. The choice was to reinforce the already established familiarity between developers and dark UI.

I opted to use a gradient as the accent color to emphasize key interactions and also applied a colored drop shadow to simulate a glowing effect
